Launching the Book Fractured Perfection by Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen

The people who left this evening, were not the same as when they walked in. Something inside them was excited and moved, and as it grew, it planted a new light in their eyes. It was a launching for the first book of an unknown writer, and yet, the hall in Gimzo was full. Family and community, Rabbis, teachers, and professionals from different fields of medicine, psychology, and coaching – they all came. The Rabbi of Gimzo spoke about the book being not only a book about great faith and the power of prayer, but mainly a book about love. Love with no boundaries, between husband and wife, a love which survives unfathomable crisis and enables overcoming them. The famous neurosurgeon, Prof. Jose Cohen, who performed several surgeries on Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen’s brain, came to the launching. “There is no way to describe what this woman has gone through.  I do not know of anyone in the world who could have survived what she had to endure. How? With stubbornness! You want to know how to hold onto life? Ask her, she knows the way.” The writer, Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen, spoke about impossible choices, and about the need and the hardship of creating an new “self” after everything she had built went into oblivion. Why and how the book was written, is also a story of its own, one which she shared with the audience. Tamar Nizri, a leading coach in Israel, gave a peek into the book via different ways by which we can influence our lives for the better. The evening ended with a concert for flute and story, with the storyteller Shuka Di-Nur, who is known to many from the radio program with Parnas. Together with the musician Tanir Shaked, they brought storied about life, which offer us a different angle of looking at life. It was an evening which will not be easily forgotten.
