One day” things will be good”

When I am told “things will get better”, I want to scream: ‘I want things to be good now! Not sometimes in the undefined future. People asked me why do I become so angry. This is what everyone says, and it expresses a hope for a better future. I have no strength to wait for a better future. I want things to be good now. Maybe other people, healthy people, have the patience to wait for ‘it will get better’. I am crippled, hurting and damaged; I have no strength to wait for it to get better, sometime… Life has taught me that it is stupid to wait for others to fix my world for me, because they will never do it in the way I want it. But now? In my condition today? There is no chance that I can arrange my life to be good now. And then, I woke up one morning… Woke up and said, on ‘automatic mode’, “I thank thee … that thou has kindly returned unto me my soul, great is your faith.” Suddenly I understood that whoever gave me another day to live, believes in me and in my ability to do something good with this day, with this life, as they are, now. That morning I understood that things can be good now! And that developing this good, within me and around me, is up to me. When I was exiting the Doctor’s office, she said to me “Hang on, things will get better”. I turned to her and said: “things are already better”, and a smile spread over my face, enveloping me with rays of wellbeing.”
