About

Tamar Jehuda Cohen

Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen is a scientist, a writer, a poet, a lecturer and a personal coach. She is happily married to Shlomo and they have seven plus one children and tens of grandchildren.

She has turned a brain stroke which left her mute, and a removal of a brain tumor which led to paralysis of one side of her body, into opportunities for not only rehabilitation but also and mainly for growth.

“I help people rehabilitate themselves and grow from crisis, using books, lectures and personal coaching”, explains Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen.

“There are people who I have coached, who learned to walk, after they were told they will remain in a wheelchair.”

“Others achieve their goals even without walking or talking.”

Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen’s books and lectures give strength to cope with complex life challenges, in every age and situation, and to turn them into opportunities for a change for the better.

Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen was a groundbreaking scientist, with life saving inventions and international patents. She worked in collaboration with leading researchers in universities in four continents, international health organizations and government institutions in many countries.

Following a brain stroke, she lost her speech and with it the whole scientific world she has built. Her position as a lecturer in the academia and her Torah classes, vanished with the loss of voice and words. Actually, she lost her whole self-definition outside the home and the family. “So, who am I now?”, she asked.

“I decided not to give up rehabilitating my speech, but at the same time to create for myself a world full of content and meaning within my muteness.” Tells Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen. “Today I speak from a different place in the brain, I am a writer and a poet, and I accompany people in their journey beyond the fear, the pain, the loss and the despair, towards processes of growth and creation of a new and happy being.”

When removing a brain tumor left her paralyzed on one side of her body, she already had coping tools, and a great belief in both the elasticity of the brain, and, most of all, in the mighty strengths within each and everyone of us.  Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen turned her long rehabilitation process into a lever of growth for many around her, both during her own rehabilitation and after it.

“I found out, that I am much more than just a brilliant scientist and an excellent lecturer – both of which I lost completely”, shares with us Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen. “I found out that my stubbornness, my great audacity not to give up, my diligence and persistence, and thinking out of the box – are very important parts of who I am”.

Since then, Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen is a voice to those who cannot express themselves, and to those accompanying them, and she writes books that empower and coach people who are coping with crisis and life changing events.

The book Fractured Perfection, which is read with bated breath, sheds light on the wondrous strengths that reside in all of us, and grants hope even in times that seem an impasse. This book is coming out soon in English  titled A Light Beyond Reason,

The poetry book The essence of My Life gives a voice to coping with loss, pain, and impossible choices, via the belief in G-d’s spark within every human being.

The book A Black Hole or a Miracle? is true real life short stories, with life’s great wisdoms and with everyday tools for coping with crisis.

Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen’s vision is that when people will encounter crisis, they will see them as opportunities for growth, and instead of falling into despair they will climb up from the black hole to a blessed and good life with their face to the light.

“I am happy, when people, with the help of the books and the lectures, understand the connection between body and mind, the power of logic, and the strength that emanates from the belief in the abilities given to us; and thus they are able to breach their limitations and to reach further than they ever dared to dream.” Explains Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen her driving forces today.

“I understood that if my goal is to give people strength, for all sorts of challenges which life presents, then I must go out and meet them”, explains Dr. Tamar Jehuda Cohen.
