Tamar, a brilliant scientist who is developing life saving medical systems, suddenly discovers that in her brain there is a life-threatening giant aneurysm. The best expert doctors evaluate that even if open head surgery will succeed, it will leave her with large and terrible brain damage. Thus she is standing at a high risk for death and major disabilities.
The will to live is burning inside her and she choses the right way for her, believing, from the depth of her soul, in the inner powers of the soul within every human being, in spite of the doubts raised by the doctors and also by close family members.
Epilepsy, loss of speech, debilitating pain, and the challenges in front of her are a misleading mask of fractures. This is the mask through which the world sees her, and responds to her.

In order not to die, I must give up an important part of my brain. Is it possible to be just ‘half me’?
Death is sitting with me at the writing desk and does not stop panting behind my neck. Stop! I say, but it does not let go. The lust for life is burning inside me and ignites a fire of action and growth from the dark and deep blackness. My life is filled with joy, color, and music which pour also between the words. The words are the ladder which connects between my body and my soul, between the present and the future, between hope and fear, between here and whatever is beyond.
Thanks to the Creator, who keeps my soul inside me, and maintains my humanity.
Thanks to the loss of speech, which made the written word more precious, words which I was granted the privilege of maintaining.
Thanks to those who revived the Hebrew language, who maintained its roots and branches, while spreading its robe on our lives still today.
Thanks to all those who my poetry moved to the point of pushing me to bring it to the light.
